On this Veterans Day, all of us who serve in the armed forces share a unique perspective of faithful service to our country and honor to those who have served before us. We give thanks for the time we have together and pay tribute to those we have lost. It is a privilege and honor for me to serve alongside you, the Airmen of the 934th Airlift Wing.

I was recently invited to participate in a Veterans Appreciation Ceremony for U.S Post Office employees. Some of these veterans had served in Vietnam and Korea; some were still serving in the Guard and Reserve. They represented all branches of the military. As I talked to them, and listened to their stories, one thing became very clear; today's veterans are very similar to our veterans from previous conflicts. The theme of service before self in the Air Force - and in every service - is a constant one that binds our veterans together through the decades.

Although you may not be formally recognized in a ceremony, there is no doubt- what you do, matters. Never wonder if your commitment is appreciated. Never question if your sacrifice is honored. They are. I would also like to thank the families and friends who support our military members. Without their help, support and sacrifice, our Airmen could not be the best in the world. Thank you.

On Veterans Day, please join me this in honoring our fellow veterans, past, present, and into the future.
