Fellow Citizen Airmen,

As we close out 2014 and prepare for 2015, I want to personally thank you and your families for the sacrifices you have made in support of our nation's defense. Your loyalty and dedication continue to amaze me. You are the reason we are the world's greatest Air Force.

Our Air Force Reserve was hard at work this past year. When our nation needed us, we answered the call to aid with the eradication of the Ebola virus in Africa, strike ISIL targets in Syria, serve in Afghanistan and countless operations at home and abroad. Your unwavering support did not go unnoticed. You served our nation proudly...for that I thank you.

While this is traditionally a time of joy and happiness, I ask that you be mindful that many of our brothers and sisters are facing challenges during this holiday season. Whether those challenges are due to deployment, injury or illness, a feeling of isolation from family and friends, or a feeling of being in a "no-win" situation, we need to be there to assist. I encourage each of you to be a good wingman and to reach out to at least one fellow Airman - each one reach one! Let them know that they are an important member of the Air Force Reserve family; that they are thought of and appreciated. For our brothers and sisters serving in harm's way, I ask that you keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers. We must not forget about our wounded warriors, their families and the families of the fallen. I urge you to reach out and make sure that the families and friends of these gallant warriors are not missing the joy that accompanies this holiday season.

In closing, I want us to remember what matters...our family...the Air Force Reserve family. Continue being the great Wingmen that you are by supporting one another. You are our most valued resource.

On behalf of Lt Gen Jackson and the Air Force Reserve Senior Leadership Team, thank you for what you do each and every day. May you and your family have a holiday season filled with happiness and joy, followed by a most wonderful New Year. I'm here for you!

Thanks for all you do,

Chief Cameron B. Kirksey
