The 934th Logistics Readiness Squadron has been living up their motto “When we rock, others roll”. The LRS here serves the rest of the 934th Airlift Wing with critical logistical support to guarantee mission success.

The 934 LRS recently won three awards including Air Force Reserve Command’s Air Reserve Component Base Logistics Activity of the Year, AFRC’s QA award, and Staff Sgt. Tyler. J Olson took home the Logistics Airman of The Year award.

Airman from the 934 LRS documented the work they had done within the squadron throughout the year. The awards were decided by the packages submitted by supervisors, and then the list of winners was announced by AFRC.

“The success at winning our awards is in large part, due to the members and
supervisors that documented their accomplishments and then made the time to
write award packages,” said the 934 LRS commander at the time, Lt. Col. Jason D. Engle.

For some, the award came unexpectedly but not undeserved. Olson was surprised when they announced his Logistics Airman of The Year Award.

“I came into work and my supervisor had asked me if I saw the news, I said what channel? They proceeded to tell me I won a logistics award. I was surprised but excited,” said Olson. “My father always told me, what ever you do in life, give it your all.”

The 934 LRS took the lead on logistical support for the Thunderbirds Demonstration Team in Mankato, Minnesota, June 2015. The event included the Air Force Thunderbirds and the LRS military and civilian Vehicle Ops team transported equipment to and from Duluth.

“As the Commander during the time, I ensured we took advantage of opportunities like supporting the logistics for the Mankato Air Show Spectacular,” said Engle.

“Mr. Dana Money, 934 LRS Vehicle Operations Supervisor, took the lead on supporting the multiple convoys and brought great credit to the 934 AW.”

“The men and women of the 934 LRS lived their squadron motto, "When we rock, others roll" and I'm truly proud of their accomplishments,” said Engle.
