New ride share program lands at 934 AW Published Feb. 24, 2014 By Staff Sgt. Carla Fernandez 934th Airlift Wing Public Affairs MINNEAPOLIS-ST PAUL AIR RESERVE STATION -- A new ride share program has landed at the 934th Airlift Wing. The Wing's Human Resource Development Council and first sergeants recently developed the Viking ride share program that wing members can participate in on a voluntary basis; helping travelers both local and non-local commute more effectively and safely. The Viking ride share program will be run and controlled by the unit commanders and first sergeants. Working with the HRDC, they will receive a roster of the current individuals assigned to the Wing every three to six months. From there they will assign each individual a correlating number and that number will be placed on a map where it will be viewable. The program is voluntary and restricted to 934 AW members only. If members are interested in the ride share program, they should check the map link at: http://www.maptive.com/ver3/f2c87df09ec8b9887172d98a0f3206c0 Zoom in on the map to the area of interest. Click on the red pins to get the ID numbers. The ID numbers are given to the unit first sergeant/commander. The first sergeant/commander will contact the unit member identified on the roster stating:, "I have an individual in my unit interested in ride share. Please reply if interested." If yes, they will give the contact information of the individual who initiated the request to the individual who was contacted. Reservists should bring any questions or concerns to the attention of their first sergeant, commander or to the unit HRDC council representative.
