CS reorganizing knowledge management Published Dec. 7, 2015 By Staff Sgt. Trevor Saylor 934th Airlift Wing Public Affairs MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL AIR RESERVE STATION, Minn. -- The 934th Airlift Wing Communications Squadron will be reorganizing to better meet the needs of the wing, as a part of an Air Force-wide career field restructure. The restructure, which was ordered by the Air Force's Chief Information Office Oct. 1, takes effect on Jan. 1. The Knowledge Operations Management career field, which previously had members assigned to different units to help with IT-related questions and issues, will now be reassigned to operate out of the 934th Communications Squadron, and report directly to Lt. Col. Richard Erredge, 934th Communications Squadron commander. The change allows the team, called the Knowledge Management Center, to stay focused on their career field, rather than get assigned work by the units they were supporting previously. "The standup of the Knowledge Management Center signifies a transition from a legacy mission support paradigm to a focus on mission assurance through application of cyber power," Erredge said. The Communications Squadron can now more effectively and efficiently deploy their resources to support all the units within the 934th Airlift Wing. The Knowledge Operations Center will primarily focus on issues relating to SharePoint, records management, Privacy Act and personally identifiable information (PII), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, publications and forms, and collaboration services.
