934AW hosts congressional staff

Eleven staff members representing congressional members from seven Minnesota districts visited the Minneapolis-St. Paul Air Reserve Station on June 4 to take part in a breakfast and orientation flight hosted by the 934th Airlift Wing.
The staffers, representing the offices of Sen. Al Franken and Reps. Michele Bachman, Betty McCollum, Keith Ellison, Erik Paulsen, and John Kline, were briefed by the the leadership of the 934th Airlift Wing, Minnesota Air National Guard, Army and Navy Reserve.
Col. Darrell G. Young was introduced to the staffers as the new commander of the 934th Airlift Wing. Colonel Young talked about upcoming deployments and his vision for the wing and making readiness a priority. Colonel Young stressed the importance of working closely with the other services in order to maximize efficiency of resources.
The staff members joined in expressing their support of the new aerial port squadron project and the Minnesota Yellow Ribbon program.
Following the meeting, the congressional staff members were taken on an orientation flight on a C-130 training mission.
