934th AW deploys in support of Coronet Oak Published Dec. 7, 2012 By Paul Zadach 934th Airlift Wing Public Affairs MUNIZ ANG BASE PUERTO RICO -- 934th Airmen deployed Nov. 24 to Muniz Air National Guard Base in San Juan, Puerto Rico to support Coronet Oak operations. Coronet Oak is an all-Reserve and Guard operation, providing airlift support to SOUTHCOM. During their two-week deployment, 934th Airmen flew multiple sorties as one of the rotating groups of Reservists providing continuous support for the operation. The 934th was lauded by the Expeditionary Airlift Squadron commander as first unit in 2012 to arrive at the base with zero deployment discrepancies, according to Col. Keith Wesley, 934th Operations Group commander. Coronet Oak aircrews provide much needed airlift support for SOUTHCOM priorities while providing experience to Reserve and ANG crews in an often varied and challenging South/Central American flying environment.
