Rylander named 934th Airman of the Year Published March 13, 2013 By Tech. Sgt. Kimberly Hickey 934th Airlift Wing Public Affairs MINNEAPOLIS ST PAUL AIR RESERVE STATION -- Senior Airman Jacob Rylander, Installation Patrolman, 934th Security Forces Squadron, is the 934th Airlift Wing's Airman of the Year for 2013. He trained more than 75 Readiness Assistance Visit personnel on weapons safety ensuring they are prepared for Inspector General inspections. Rylander is the Unit Evidence Custodian, who oversees marking, accountability and secure storage of all evidence. He also secured certified and tested fuel for an Air Force One visit, a critical limited resource essential for Presidential safety. Rylander also organized site coordination for Emergency Services Partner training to improve the unit's combat readiness. He also attended a two-week grueling ground combat skills course and honed his advanced security forces tactics with field exercises, better preparing himself for deployment. Rylander supports the charity, Feed My Starving Children, and packaged 18,000 ready-to-eat meals for Filipino families, and participated in a base clean-up effort that resulted in the collection of over 24 lbs. of trash, improving the positive image of the 934th AW.
