Colonel Kyle H. Goldstein is the Deputy Commander, 934th Airlift Wing located at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Air Reserve Station Minn. The Wing is comprised of nearly 1,600 Airmen across three groups and 12 squadrons and operates eight C-130H aircraft. As the installation deputy commander he also leads the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Air Reserve Station including providing support to the nearly 5,000 assigned Air National Guard, Army National Guard and Naval Operations Support Center.
Prior to his current position, Col. Goldstein was the commander, 340th Flying Training Group, United States Air Force Reserve, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. He was responsible for the overall success of the Air Force Reserve Command's Reserve Instructor Program, which trains and provides experienced instructor pilots, jump masters, and Basic Military Training instructors to Air Education and Training Command's instructor force.
Additionally, Col. Goldstein has served as the Deputy A3/A5 Director, 22nd Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia. Twenty-Second Air Force has command supervision of the Reserve's tactical air mobility operations and other vital mission sets, including distinguished visitor airlift, undergraduate pilot training, flight test operations, and a highly mobile civil engineering response force.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and earned his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Colonel Goldstein graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, in 2000 and was assigned as an F-15C fighter pilot at the 58th Fighter Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. In 2003, he deployed to Tabuk Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an integral member of the 485th Air Expeditionary Wing. He executed critical missions supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, ensuring air superiority during strikes over Baghdad.
Colonel Goldstein is a command pilot with over 3,000 flying hours in the F-15C, T-38A/C, B-737, T-37 with over 60 of those in combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
