Commander sends holiday message

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL AIR RESERVE STATION -- Airmen, Family and Friends of the Global Vikings:

As 2015 draws to a close, I would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication over the past year as members of the 934th Airlift Wing family.  I truly appreciate all that you have accomplished this year, and I hope you take advantage of some well-earned rest this holiday season.

I know we ask a lot of you at times, and I thank you and your families for the sacrifices you make.  What you do matters and understand that each of you makes a difference in the world.

Many of you plan to celebrate with family and friends over the holidays.  Please stay safe and be attentive to your surroundings this season.  If traveling, please remember to take the normal winter weather precautions, and if you're drinking, please do so responsibly and in moderation.

Although the holidays are a joyous time for many, this time of year is difficult for some.  Take the time this season to apply the Wingman concept and stay connected with your fellow Airmen.

Additionally, not all of our Airmen are able to celebrate this holiday season with their family members.  I am especially thankful for the tremendous dedication and sacrifices of our Airmen who are serving overseas this time of year.  Please keep all of our deployed service members and their families in mind and make plans for greeting them upon their return next month.

To all of our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, Active, Guard, Reserve, and Civilian alike, I appreciate the sacrifices that you and your family make every day in serving our nation.  Thank you for a phenomenal 2015, and as I prepare to PCS from the wing I look forward to your many successes in 2016.  My family and I wish you the very best.  Happy holidays to you all!

Col. Keith T. Wesley
934th Airlift Wing Commander
