As the United States Air Force celebrates its sixty-eighth birthday, Airmen of the 934 Airlift Wing can reflect proudly on an unparalleled legacy of airpower and excellence in defense of our Nation.  Since 1947, the U.S. Air Force through its Airmen and technology has played a key role in securing our Nation during war, and in the maintenance of peace and humanitarian support around the world.  Since this time, courageous Airmen have forged the evolution and refinement of our mission with their blood and sacrifice, ensuring the unique contributions of Airpower will endure long into the future.

Today, the Airmen of the 934 Airlift Wing stand ready to fly, fight and win against worldwide threats in air, space and cyberspace.  Many of our Airmen have recently deployed and many continue to serve beyond our borders ensuring our Nations interests remain protected.

It is a privilege to serve as your commander and I am extremely proud of your professionalism and expertise as evidenced in your performance during the 2015 Capstone Inspection resulting in the first ever "Highly Effective" rating by a Reserve unit.

The "Global Vikings" have a proud Air Force heritage and we must continue to build on this legacy and maintain our dedication to the American people as citizen Airmen.  I want to thank each of you for your service and wish you all a very Happy Air Force Birthday!
