Into the storm

The U.S. Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters flew more than 655 hours and 83 missions into 12 named storms over the Atlantic and Pacific oceans during the 2018 hurricane season. Pilots Lt. Col. Jerry Rutland (left) and Maj Eric Chapman begin their mission into Florence, a hurricane about to hit the Southeast Coast of the United States.
